Unit 2

Jan has been providing the locals with top-notch luggage and mobile

accessories for over 20 years. Jan learned his trade as a young boy in

Afghanistan, gaining knowledge about mobile phone accessories from his

older brother.


Fast-forward to now, with his years of understanding and experience he is able to offer the public a great selection of luggage, rucksacks, wallets, belts, speakers and other handy mobile-related gadgets.



Unit 5

Lucy is a hairdresser with a goal to make you look and feel glamorous. After completing a hairdressing course in Columbia, she eventually moved to the UK to bring her talent to Elephant and Castle and has now been serving the public for 28 years.


Lucy's Hairdressing is a unisex salon specialising in haircuts, colouring and highlight treatments. Moreover, she provides a range of beauty treatments.

Not only will you leave Lucy’s hairdressers looking beautiful, you will leavefeeling well taken care of, as she makes it a priority to be attentive and

empathetic to the needs of all of her customers.



Unit 3

Emad is a self-taught IT Technician, he has been trading in Elephant and Castle for 11 years. He has played a crucial role in connecting with communities in the area. He learned Spanish which allowed him to connect and provide translation services for those in need of assistance but struggling to speak English.


He is here to fix all of your technical needs from your Apple Mac computer, to your standard electronic gadgets such as iPhones.  He has now added a self-service printing system to his shop.

Unit 9

Saidat has been a staple of the community in Elephant and Castle for decades, where she has been trading for 20 years. From developing her craft in styling garments in Nigeria, Saidat created Oyelade Haberdashery to provide the

public and her community with a huge selection of zips, buttons and ribbons tailored to fit a variety of garments for any occasion.


Saidat provides a service that is specific to each customer’s needs, making them feel special each and every time they visit her store.



Unit 11b

John has been in Elephant Castle since 2015, and brought Dr. Juice to the community to promote a healthy lifestyle. John was inspired to introduce Dr Juice to the community when he noticed a lack of healthy options for the public; he then decided to be the change he wanted to see.  John’s menu and health philosophy, he often gets members of the community telling him their testimonies on how they have lost weight and generally
become healthier.


Dr. Juice smoothies, salads and soups provide wholesome​ 
and nutritious ingredients that help to support a health-conscious way of living.



Unit 6

Meklit has been sewing and selling fashion products for over 10 years.

Being in her Uncles shop in Ethiopia, inspired her to study fashion and she has been trading ever since.


Meklit is a talented tailor with the skills

to create bespoke garments for customers. Her shop allows customers to purchase exclusive clothing and  repair-damaged items.



Unit 8

Leocadie runs a beauty cosmetic store, giving local customers access to high

quality beauty products. She has been running her business at Elephant

and castle for 3 years and has 40 years' worth of experience in her field

selling cosmetics in Ivory Coast as well as in the UK.


El Beauty Cosmetics offers a great selection of beauty and skincare products as well as hair extensions and your most wanted haircare products.



Unit 4

Arshid has vast experience in providing the community with their daily necessities. Arshid has been trading in elephant and castle for over 20 years, providing grocery products to the local community. He was involved in grocery sales in Kashmir before coming to the UK.


Valyou Supermarket is a

convenience store stocking your favourite groceries, toiletries and cleaning products with a wide selection of snacks and drinks.



Unit 10

Esther is a fashion retailer who specialises in offering a wide selection of African garments and has a keen eye for finding amazing jewelry from around the world. She  is one of the longest standing local business owners in Elephant Arcade as she has been doing business in Elephant and Castle

since 1993. You can be sure to find appealing clothing influenced from the African diaspora in Esther’s store.



Unit 11a

Come to elephant arcade to taste John’s epic Black Cowboy Coffee. John provides an experience for his customers as soon as they enter the Café. Serving a variety of his legendary Cowboy Coffee, you’ll be spoilt for choice.


He also offers yummy bagels and waffles. John takes pride in offering high quality Coffee to the public.
